Take 2 strings and lie them parallel to one another (This will be the two colours of your Skoobie.)
| |
 |
6/4/05
Take a third string and lay it under the other strings in the middle of strings one and two but going in the other direction as if making a cross shape. (This string is the piece that would act as a chain on a necklace. You will not need to use this string until you have finished.)
| |
 | 6/4/05
Tie a knot in the third string.
| |
|
 | 6/4/05
You are now ready to make a Skoobie.
| |
 |
6/4/05
Hold all four pieces of strings 1 and 2 so you have a cross shape. Remember to ignore string 3 until the end.
| |
 | 6/4/05
Cross the bottom right string over to the left leaving a small loop. (The loop is to help hold everything together).
| |
 | 6/4/05
Cross the bottom string over to the top.
| |
 | 6/4/05
Cross the left string over to the right.
| |
 | 6/4/05
Cross the top string over to the bottom ensuring you place this through the loop you made at the beginning.
| |
 | 6/4/05
Pull all the strings to tighten up the Skoobie.
| |
|
|
 | 6/4/05
You will see that you have made a square.
| |
 | 6/4/05
Keep the cross shape. Cross the left string over to the right ensuring again that you make a loop.
| |
 |
6/4/05
Cross the bottom string up to the top.
Cross the right string over to the left.
| |
 | 6/4/05
Cross the top string over to the bottom ensuring you thread it through the loop.
| |
 | 6/4/05
Pull strings tight.
| |
|
 | 6/4/05
Repeat step 2 then step 3 from the beginning and continue to do this until you have approximately 4cm of strings left.
| |
|
|
 | 6/4/05
Once you get to the end tie knot in the loose end.
| |
 | 6/4/05
Congratulations! You have made your first Skoobie.
| |
|
 |
6/4/05
If you wish you can make a necklace with this or perhaps you would like to make a keyring using the rings that come in your Skoobie pack.
| |
 | 6/4/05
To make a keyring: thread the ring through the Skoobie where string 3 is.
| |
|
 | 6/4/05
Remove string 3 (You can use this string again).
| |
 | 6/4/05
Congratulations! You have just made your first Skoobie keyring now all you need to do is add your keys!
